  1. For anyone wanting to know why it’s closing: this loçation is planned to become one of the ill-fated Club Studio locations. Club Studio is owned by the parent company of LA Fitness, called Fitness International, LLC. If you recall, Fitness International also rolled out an ill-fated lower end line of gyms called Esporta. Those were supposed to be like Planet Fitness. The idea flopped and the remaining Esportas were turned back into LA Fitness clubs. The whole idea was a waste of time, money, and effort. Now, Fitness International is attempting another piss-poor idea to roll out high-end wellness clubs called Club Studio. They are overpriced and have cheap amenities: massage chairs, compression boots, Pilates reformers with cheap machines and annoying lighting, boxing bags filled with water and annoying dance club music and purple neon lighting, cold towels soaked in some Eucalyptus water slop and dried and stuck inside a refrigerator, etc..The price tag for a monthly membership will start around $150-250 per month. Reviews from other locations in SoCal are reporting that they cannot book classes because those classes fill too quickly but if you want to make it into classes before others through early booking, there is a surcharge for that. If you arrive a few minutes late or need to cancel, that’ll be an additional $15 each. The whole concept is a ploy and a money making scheme to try to siphon a lot of money out of people quickly since they can no longer do it by making it impossible to cancel or by tricking you into a training contract you can’t get out of unless you die or an permanently disabled. Fitness International is having a reported tough time keeping the leases paid at the more expensive locations and so this is their answer. They could re-roll money back into clubs but no. They’re just going to try to pretend to be Equinox or some she-she day spa and pray that’ll cover their bills (it won’t). People with money aren’t going to pay for a low end day spa owned by LA Fitness dummies, and people who like to pretend they have money will be the first to sign up and the first to trash the place, because they’re all reportedly getting junky quickly at other locations and their minimum wage employees are just as bad as most of the LA Fitness locations. Read the reviews. Let’s not forget that no one can afford anything right now and diesel and gas so high and rents out of control. Like who is gonna pay for this now. When the whole concept crashes and burns, they will shut them all down and leave a complete void of accessible gyms to the mass public and everyone will have to find another gym again. It’s gonna keep happening too because gyms everywhere are closing. 24 may soon be closing too despite remodeling and reopening.. EOS and likely smaller gym companies will then swoop in and buy the failing Club Studios and remaining LA Fitnesses and open them as mid level gyms or the branches will close entirely and there will be even less to choose from. LA Fitness could have survived if only they actually reinvested the monthly dues monies back into existing locations but the company doesn’t care. They don’t care about their employees or managers or members. They treat cleaning crew like slaves. They open one up, get flooded with new members, and then let the whole thing quickly fall into disrepair as they do with all their gyms. They are like a dirty slumlord who comes to town and opens up decent housing in bad neighborhoods and never tend to them or fulfill the needs of the occupants. They just collect your money and shovel that money into a new locations elsewhere. They never use your money to help your location. And then as they fail and memberships dies down, they close them all up. And they never bat an eye cause as long as the executives still siphon off a huge salary at the top of the food chain, they don’t care about the rest. It’s like a money pyramid. The people paying in for a membership at the bottom lose everything but the people at the top still eat like fat cats. Welcome to corporate America. Now you get to be reminded yet again why LA Fitness company is voted one of the worst companies in America each and every year. I am so sorry for everyone’s losses because everyone will still need a nice basic gym to go to. Man, screw these people.
