Veteran Sports Marketer Opens Office In Santa Clarita
SCV resident will offer services locally.
O’Brien Media/Advertising/Sports Marketing announced the opening of its Santa Clarita offices today. The firm is led by C. Patrick O’Brien, a veteran of sports marketing and advertising who has negotiated more than half a billion dollars in corporate sponsorship and naming rights agreements.
“We’ve made our home in Santa Clarita for many years, and it’s a place we’ve fallen in love with,” O’Brien said. “So it’s particularly gratifying to work here now and we look forward to helping local companies explore new opportunities and achieve their goals.”
Prior to launching his own firm in 2006, O’Brien served as Senior Vice President for AEG/Envision, and was Director of Sports Advertising Sales at Los Angeles radio station KFWB 980.
At AEG, O’Brien oversaw all AEG naming and founding partnership programs, and is credited with securing corporate sponsors for STAPLES Center and The Home Depot Center. He also coordinated sponsorship of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Kings, LA Avengers of the Arena Football League, and AEG’s Major League Soccer teams, including the Los Angeles Galaxy, D.C. United, Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire, and the former New York/New Jersey MetroStars. O’Brien was named Major League Soccer’s Executive of the Year five times in nine years when he was with AEG. As well as being nominated twice for the prestigious 40 under 40 Sports Business Journal award.
While with KFWB, O’Brien fulfilled a childhood dream and worked with the Dodgers, leading advertising sales for the Dodger Radio Network. He also oversaw advertising sales for the NFL Sunday and Monday Night Football programs on KFWB.
O’Brien is a graduate of University of California Los Angeles. He resides in Stevenson Ranch with his wife, Shelley, and children Hannah, Jack, Maggie, and Caroline.
