All freeways and roads are open Monday afternoon after morning showers and snow flurries caused schools in Acton/Agua Dulce to close and highway patrol officer to run traffic breaks.

Snowfall of the I-5 and Highway 14 prompted the California Highway Patrol to run round robins (slowing traffic) from Via Princessa north on Hwy 14 and Castaic on the I-5.

Schools in the Acton/Agua Dulce School District and Vasquez High School were closed for the day because of the snow.

By mid-afternoon, the sun had mostly dominated the sky, and snow on the ground is melting.

Patches of snow and rain is expected to continue throughout the
evening here in Santa Clarita and the surrounding areas. Dry weather is
predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday, however, more rain will follow
and carry through into the weekend.
