SCV Hydro Garden “Customer Appreciation Day”

When:  Sunday, November 3 from 11-5pm
Where:  SCV Hydro Garden, 25845 Railroad Avenue, near Magic Mountain Parkway and  Saugus Café
Details:  SCV Hydro Garden is holding Customer Appreciation Day and KHTS will be there.  Learn about SCV Hydro Garden and how they can help you with your home hydroponic garden.  There will be hourly raffle prizes, free food and music.  KHTS is giving away Circus Vargas tickets.  More information on SCV Hydro Garden online.

City Of Santa Clarita Marathon

When:  Sunday, November 3 starting at 7am
Where:  Between the Westfield Valencia Town Center and Hyatt Regency Valencia – utilizes the San Francisquito Creek Trails for Marathon and Half-Marathon  (see website for race routes)
Details:  The City of Santa Clarita Marathon is an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon.  Marathon day includes a full marathon, half-marathon, 5K, Mayor’s Walk, and a Kid K run.  All of the races start at 7am, except the Kid K which starts at 8:30am.  The Marathon and Half-Marathon will use the new trails of San Francisquito Creek.  More information, including routes, registration, FAQs, street closures, and more are available online.

City Of Santa Clarita Health & Fitness Expo

When:  Saturday, November 2 from 9am-5pm
Where:  Hyatt Regency Valencia, 24500 Town Center Drive – at McBean Parkway
Details:  The City of Santa Clarita is holding a Health & Fitness Expo as a kick-off event to the Santa Clarita Marathon.  The Expo is a free event that is open to the public.  The Expo features health related vendors and informational booths.  Marathon runners can pick-up race bibs and t-shirts.  More information is available online.

The Sanctuary Church “Lightfest”

When:  Saturday, November 2 from 6-9pm
Where:  The Sanctuary Church, 26444 Friendly Valley Parkway – off of Sierra Highway
Details:  The Sanctuary Church is holding “Lightfest”, a celebration of Fall.    “A festive time of live entertainment including street performers, live bands and some of the best food vendors around.  Families, kids, teens and adults of all ages are welcome and are sure to have a blast.”  There will be a super slide, climbing wall, carnival games and more.  More information is availableonline

The Church On The Way “Candyland SCV”

When:  Thursday, October 31 from 5-8pm
Where:  The Church On The Way Santa Clarita, 23415 Cinema Drive, Santa Clarita
Details:  The Church On The Way Santa Clarita is holding a family-fun and free event, “Candyland SCV”.  The event will have games, giant inflatables and trunk-or-treat.  Costumes are encouraged but not horror costumes and/or masks.  Teens can attend a “special presentation put on by Unleashed Youth, called ‘Zombie Confessions’.” “This powerful message is not suitable for young children.”  Food trucks will be there but are not included in the free admittance.   More information is available online.  

Valencia United Methodist “Trunk Or Treat”

When:  Wednesday, October 30 from 6-7:30pm
Where:  Valencia United Methodist, 25718 McBean Parkway, Valencia
Details:  Valencia United Methodist is pleasing all elementary school-age kids in Santa Clarita with a “Trunk Or Treat” event.  This event is free, safe family fun with candy, games, craft-making and more.  Candy is given out to kids from the trunks of well decorated cars.  Trunk or Treat is meant for kids through sixth grade.  Non-scary costumes only, please.  More information is available by calling 661-255-1301 or online.

Assistance League Of Santa Clarita “Sunset In The Vineyard”

When:  Sunday, November 3 from 2-5pm
Where:  Compa Vineyard, a private vineyard, 24435 Arcadia Street, Newhall
Details:  The Assistance League of Santa Clarita is hosting their autumn fundraising event “Sunset in the Vineyard” at a private local vineyard.  The afternoon will include locally crafted wine and beer, appetizers, desserts, music, and silent auction.  The tickets are $75 in advance and $85 at the door.  All proceeds benefit the Assistance League community projects.  More information is available by calling 661-755-9478 or online.

College Of The Canyons Canyon Country Campus “Fall Festival & Movie Under The Stars”

When:  Friday, November 1 from 5-9pm
Where:  College of the Canyons Canyon Country Campus, 17200 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country – on Cougar Way
Details:  The Canyon Country Campus of College of the Canyons is holding a free “Fall Festival and Movie Under the Stars”.  The evening is open to the public featuring face-painting, pumpkin decorating, live music and a screening of “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial” (at 6:30pm in the campus outdoor amphitheater).  During “E.T.” free popcorn and cotton candy will be served.  Other food and beverages will be available for purchase.  Crafts and harvest-themed activities will be offered by students in the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education program.  Guests are encouraged to dress warmly and bring blankets.  Read more:  College Of The Canyons To Host Fall Festival At Canyon Country Campus.

Lombardi Ranch Halloween Festival

When:  starting now
Where:  29527 Bouquet Canyon Road, just south of Vasquez
Details: Halloween may be over but Lombardi Ranch is still Halloween festive through October 31.  Lombardi Ranch has been a staple in Santa Clarita for over 30 years, especially at pumpkin time.  Lombardi Ranch is a working farm offering seasonal produce for sale, in addition to pumpkins, Indian corn and gourds, for your autumn and Thanksgiving decorating.  Walk Scarecrow Alley, an enjoyable and sometimes scary walk through the corn fields.  As every Santa Clarita school age child knows, no little one leaves empty handed.  There are balloons, stickers and candy for each little hand.     Come to the Ranch and you’ll be sure to be humming the everlasting Lombardi Ranch song by David Reeves Carpenter. Free parking and admission.  See KHTS pictures at Lombardi Ranch.  More information is available online.  

Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center “The Official Blues Brothers Revue”

When:  Friday, November 1 at 8pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd, on the COC Valencia campus

West Ranch High School “The Four Freshmen”

Details:  “The Four Freshman bringing swing to Santa Clarita” courtesy of West Ranch High School Music Program.  The Four Freshman has a repertoire that includes a variety of pop and jazz standards.  “Their show is not to be missed! Their youth, vitality and talent add an unforgettable twist of elegance to an already unmistakable sound.  The Four Freshmen are true masters of harmony!”  Tickets are $20 for students/seniors/military/veterans ($25 at the door); $25 for general admission ($30 at the door), and $30 for premium seating ($35 at the door).  More information on the concert and ticket locations is available online.  

Lancaster Performing Arts Center “The Official Blues Brothers Revue”

Where:  Lancaster Performing Arts Center, 750 W. Lancaster Boulevard, Lancaster

Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society “Wild West Rose Show & Art Display”

When:  Saturday, November 3 from 12:30-4pm and Sunday, November 4 from 11am-3pm
Where:  William S. Hart Park, Hart Hall, 24151 Newhall Avenue, Newhall
Details:  The Santa Clarita Valley Rose Society is holding “Wild West Rose Show & Art Display”.  The two day event includes the rose show and an art show.  Rose growers throughout Southern California will exhibit a wide variety of rose specimens, covering 45 tables.  The art show will feature rose art by local artists.  Both events on both days are free and open to the public.  More information is available by emailing rosextckb@aol.com or online.

James Foster Elementary School PTA Fundraiser

When:  Thursday, October 31 from 1-3pm
Where:  28230 Constellation, Valencia
Details:  James Foster Elementary PTA is holding a FUNdraiser that coincides with the student’s non-attendance day on Halloween.  The fundraiser will be held at Scooter’s Jungle.  Cost of admission is $10 per child and $5 per adult – presales end October 30.  There will be costume contests for kids and adults at 1:30pm.  “Come dressed to impress, and win a cool prize!”  No face paint or props, please.  The PTA will be selling smoothies and water bottles to benefit the 6th Grade Activities Fund.  For more information or to request tickets, email jamesfosterpta@gmail.com.

Details:  Circus Vargas is coming to Santa Clarita with their new production “Magikaria, A Fantastical Magical Experience”.  “Circus Vargas conjures up an astonishing array of artists in its newest, exciting spectacular! An amazing production bursting with mystery, magic, music and more!  Witness elaborate illusions and unbelievable feats of acrobatic and aerial artistry!  A world of magic…under the big top!”  Circus times are:  Thursday, November 7 at 7:30pm; Friday, November 8 at 7:30pm; Saturday, November 9 at 1:30, 4:30, and 7:30pm; Sunday, November 10 at 1:00, 4:00, and 7:00pm; Monday, November 11 at 2:00 and 5:00pm.  More information is available online.  

Habitat For Humanity “Ground Breaking & BBQ”

When:  Saturday, November 9 from 11am-4pm
Where:  Building Site, 21545 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita

City Of Lancaster “Field Of Drafts”

When:  Saturday, November 9 from 1-5pm
Where:  Lancaster Municipal Stadium,  45116 Valley Central Way, Lancaster
Details:  The City of Lancaster knows that “If you brew it, they will come”.  So come on out to “Field of Drafts”.  Sample dozens of craft beers from dozens of brewers.  Admission includes a souvenir glass, live entertainment and football on the Jumbotron.  This event will be held rain or shine.  More information and tickets are available online.

Grace Baptist “Marriage Conference With Paul David Tripp”

When:  Friday, November 15 from 7-9:15pm and Saturday, November 16 from 9am-12:15pm
Where:  Grace Baptist Worship Center, 22833 Copper Hill Drive, Santa Clarita
