Celebrating Life Festival
When:  Saturday, February 2 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, February 3 from 10am to 4pm
Where:  25300 Rye Canyon Road at Avenue Scott (where Copperhill becomes Rye Canyon Road)
Details:  Celebrating Life Festival is a free two day event that has it all.  Saturday will focus on health, fitness and beauty.  There will be free health screenings.  Sunday will focus on wealth, travel and leisure (with some health screenings).  There will also be an E-waste Collection and Arts & Crafts Fair on both days.  Kids can enjoy face painting, games and other activities.  Enter the “Passport” contest to win prizes.  The show is hosted by the SCV Chamber of Commerce and High Impact! Repertory East Playhouse “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”
When:  January 25 through February 23, see times below (no show Feb 3)
Where:  Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  Repertory East Playhouse  has the musical comedy “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.  The play follows six young people in a spelling championship.   This show won two Tony Awards in 2005.  Friday and Saturday shows are at 8pm.  Sunday matinees are at 2pm.   Tickets are available online or by calling 661-288-0000.

Canyon Theatre Guild “Run For Your Wife”
When:  Fridays at 8pm on:  January 25 and February 22; Saturdays at 8pm on: January 26, February 2, 9, 16 and 23; Sunday at 2pm on: February 3 and 17; Sunday at 6pm on: February 10
Where:  Canyon Theatre Guild, 24242 Main Street, Old Town Newhall
Details:  The hilarious comedy “Run For Your Wife” is playing at Canyon Theatre Guild.  This comedy follows a man who leads two lives with two wives.  Canyon Theatre Guild finds the craziness and fun in this story of one-marriage & one-wife, one too many.  Tickets are $12/$15.  For tickets call 661-799-2702. 

Canyon Theatre Guild “Seussical”
When:  Saturdays at 2pm on:  January 26, 27, February 2, 9, 10, 16 and 23;  Sundays at 6pm on:  February 3 and 17;  Fridays at 8pm on: February 22
Where:  Canyon Theatre Guild, 24242 Main Street, OldTown Newhall
Details:  Many of your family’s Dr. Seuss favorites are on stage at Canyon Theatre Guild  in “Seussical”.  “‘Seussical’ is a fantastical, magical and musical extravaganza!”  Tickets are $15 for juniors/seniors and $17 for adults.  Call 661-799-2702 for tickets.

Valley Performing Arts Center “An Evening With Branford Marsalis”
When: Saturday, February 2 at 8pm
Where:  Valley Performing Arts Center at CSUN, 18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge
Details:  Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis takes the stage at the Valley Performing Arts Center.   Marsalis and his group is “one of the most innovative and forward-thinking jazz ensembles today”.  Tickets are available by calling 818-677-3000 or online.   

Escape Children’s Theatre “The Music Man”
When:  Friday, February 1 at 10am and 7pm; Saturday, February 2 at 2pm and 7pm; and Sunday, February 3 at 2pm and 7pm
Where:  Santa Clarita Performing ArtsCenter, 26455 Rockwell, Valencia
Details:  Escape Children’s Theatre brings “The Music Man” to Santa Clarita.   Escape Children’s Theatre productions are always entertaining for the entire family.  Expect to hear all your Music Man musical favorites such as Pick-a-Little (Talk-a-Little), Ya Got Trouble and 76 Trombones.  Tickets are  available through Escape by calling 661-299-5264 or online

Saugus High Choir – Goodwill Fundraiser
When:  Saturday, February 2 from 8am-2pm
Where:  Saugus High School, 21900 Centurion Way, Saugus
Details:  Saugus High School Choir has partnered with Goodwill Southern California to raise funds.  So clean out your closets and garage and drop off your donations. SCV Senior Center “Bye, Bye Birdie”
When:  Wednesday, January 30 at 3pm
Where:  SCV Senior Center, Multi-Purpose Room, 22900 Market Street, Newhall

Canyon High Girls Soccer – Fundraiser

Details:  Get ahead of your Spring cleaning and clear out your closets and garage now, all to benefit the CanyonHigh School’s Girls Soccer.  The team has partnered with Goodwill for a fundraiser.  Bring your donations and help the girls raise much needed funds.
