Tammy Trent In Concert May 4
Recording artist to be featured at church services.
Living Grace Christian Fellowship will feature Tammy Trent, best-selling author and musical artist who has released three CDs that have garnered three #1 hits and a handful of top 10 hits Sunday, May 4 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Oak Hills School, 26730 Old Rock Road, Valencia.
Tammy Trent’s unimaginable journey was one of despair and unexpected grace. On a stunning September day in 2001, Tammy’s soul mate and husband of 11 years, Trent Lenderink, dove into the blue waters of Jamaica and landed in the arms of Jesus. She spent the rest of the day with rescue divers trying to locate her husband with no success. The next day, as she waited for news of her husband, she watched two planes plow into New York City’s Twin Towers - later that day she had to identify the body of her husband. No one in her family could get to her, as flights were canceled. She was held captive in Jamaica for 10 days waiting to return to her family.
In the years since Trent’s death, Tammy has, step by step, gathered up the courage to walk through the doors God has opened. In early 2005, Tammy began to write new songs - not so much about the road she’s traveled as about where she stands today. “I See Beautiful” is the hope-drenched result.
“‘I See Beautiful’ was one of the first songs I wrote for the new project, and I knew right away that it would be the title track of the album,” Tammy said. “I wasn’t making a record just to make a record. I owed it to myself to sing the story that I’ve been given. What flowed out of me had everything to do with where I was at that exact moment, that place in the healing process where I made the choice to look at everything differently – the rainfall, a sunset, a flower in bloom. I could look for life in it or I could see it as death.”
“We are thrilled that Tammy has agreed to come and share her powerful testimony and music with our congregation as well as the Santa Clarita community,: said Mike Scott, Senior Pastor, Living Grace Christian Fellowship. “Her story relates to so many and her music has touched thousands of people in ways they would have never expected.”
Her concert at Living Grace Christian Fellowship will be held during the 10 A.M. service with free admission. Her biography, Learning To Breathe Again: Choosing Life and Finding Hope After A Shattering Loss, was published in 2004, followed by her devotional/gift book, Beyond The Sorrow: There’s Hope in the Promises of God, published in 2005 by J Countryman.
