The 2013 Texaco Country Showdown competition has been narrowed down to five finalists, including Suzanne Harper 2013 Western Regional Winner, sponsored by KHTS radio of Santa Clarita, is scheduled to return in Nashville on Jan. 17, 2013.
California country musician Suzanne Harper has officially been announced as a finalist in the 32nd annual Texaco Country Showdown, following her win at the Western Regional level competition in November.
Texaco Country Showdown winner, the KHTS-sponsored band Poor Man's Poison is thriving since their win, with a tour schedule lined up and three albums released. KHTS contestant Suzanne Harper will compete in this year's national finals in January.
Cali-country musician Suzanne Harper, under the sponsorship of KHTS AM 1220, won the California State level competition of the 32nd annual Texaco Country Showdown on August 17 and is expected to advance to the regional levels competition of the Texaco Country Showdown.
Knott’s Berry Farm will be hosting the California State Final of the 32nd Annual Texaco Country Showdown. The Texaco Country Showdown is America’s largest country music talent search. The State Final will take place on Saturday, August 17 at 7 P.M. in the Wagon Camp at the park.

This past year, the band Poor Man’s Poison won the Texaco Country Showdown in Nashville, Tenn. held at the legendary Ryman Auditorium. They also received the title “Best New Act in Country Music” along with $100,000. Poor Man’s Poison started out locally in Santa Clarita where they were sponsored by KHTS AM-1220. They went through the rounds of local competition eventually advancing to the National Final Round of the Texaco Country Showdown to compete for the title amongst four other artists.
