    Caltrans Announces Lane, Ramp Closures On I-5 For Truck Lane Project

    The California Department of Transportation is warning motorists to beware of upcoming lane closures between Dec. 8 and 14. Lanes in both directions will be closed to accommodate construction on a new truck lane. Plan ahead for delays.

    Motorists, especially those traveling at night, should be aware of lane and off-ramp closures on Interstate 5 that started Aug. 4 and will continue until Aug. 10 in connection with Caltrans' truck lane project between Lyons Avenue and the Newhall Pass.

    Caltrans I-5 Truck Lane Project Now 47 Percent Complete

    The Caltrans truck lane project between Lyons Avenue and the Newhall Pass on Interstate 5 is now 47 percent complete. It will help to improve safety and reduce congestion, according to the Golden State Gateway Coalition.

    I-5 Lane Closures Planned For The Month Of April

    Several ramp and lane closures along the Interstate 5 freeway are scheduled for the month of April. The California Department of Transportation has planned the closures as part of two separate projects: a $72 million project to construct a truck lane on the I-5 South between Pico Canyon Road/Lyons Avenue and State Route 14, and a $140 million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle lanes and a direct HOV lane connector at the I-5/SR-170 interchange.
