    DaAnne Smith, Executive Director for Single Mothers Outreach Santa Clarita helps single parents and their children by providing, hope, support and resources so families can become self-sustaining. She is this week’s Santa Clarita Unsung Hero presented by Mercedes Benz of Valencia.

    Santa Clarita Food Drive Hosted By LARC Ranch

    Santa Clarita’s Los Angeles Residential Community is hosting a food drive Saturday to benefit Single Mothers Outreach of Santa Clarita.

    LARC residents and their Aktion Club are hosting the food drive from 9 a.m. to noon outside of the Albertson’s grocery store on Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus.

    The Santa Clarita Valley Single Mothers Outreach executive director and board president are asking the community to help out with the 2013 giving campaign to help the organization continue to aid single mothers in the community.

    Santa Clarita Families Receive Donated Thanksgiving Dinners

    More than 100 complete Thanksgiving dinners were donated to families in need that are a part of the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley and Single Mothers Outreach.

    For Santa Clarita Valley residents looking for something to do over the Thanksgiving holiday, the community offers several options for families, kids and seniors alike, including a Turkey Toss and a free dinner at the Senior Center.

    Donate A Thanksgiving Meal To Families In Need Through KHTS

    The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley, KHTS AM-1220, Paul Davis Emergency Services and other local businesses are partnering to sponsor a Thanksgiving food drive. The community can donate at KHTS until Monday for more than 100 needy families.

    The weather has been very un-autumn like the last few days…it’s been too warm! I hear a “cool down” is on the way. I certainly hope so! Enough of summer!

    ‘Tis the season

    The official kick-off for the holiday season will be held Nov. 15-24 when the Festival of Trees is held at Westfield Valencia Town Center, between The Patios and Sears on Valencia Boulevard in Valencia. It is one of my favorite events of the season!
