    Students at Sierra Vista Junior High School learned about what life was like on the frontier 170 years ago, during Friday's Pioneer Day at the school. They watched as demonstrators churned butter, spun wool, chopped wood and played the banjo.

    Canyon High To Host Memorial For Deputy Devin Freeman On Saturday

    Deputy Devin Freeman, who died on Nov. 28 after a six-year battle with cancer, will be honored at a memorial service at Canyon High School on Saturday, 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Kimmel Cancer Center.

    Hart District Elects Rodriguez As Permanent Chief Operating Officer

    The William S. Hart Union High School District has elected a new permanent Chief Operating Officer. In a board meeting Wednesday night, interim COO Benjamin Rodriguez was appointed to the job in a unanimous vote of the school district board members.

    Rodriguez was elevated to interim COO in November after Tom Cole left the job to take a position as Santa Clarita’s community development director.
