Volunteers performed odd jobs at fire and Sheriff's stations and assembled care packages for military at the Old Town Newhall Library, as part of HandsOn Santa Clarita's 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance.
A number of opportunities are available for residents who want to give back on September 11 and remember those who fell in the terrorist attacks. Local businesses and nonprofits will be honoring the fallen and local first responders.
A special 9/11 Tribute will be held during the weekly Bike Night at Route 66 Classic Grill, on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Local singers and first responders will honor the memory of those who lost their lives and those who risk their lives every day.
HandsOn Santa Clarita, a network that connects local nonprofits and volunteers, is hosting a "9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance" to honor the victims and first-responders at the World Trade Center and serve our local first-responders.
