While there are no planned construction closures for truck lanes or for the pavement improvement project on local freeways during the Labor Day weekend, closures are expected to begin Sept. 2.
Delays were expected on Newhall Avenue beginning at 4 a.m. Saturday and continuing through 4 a.m. Sunday as the Southern California Gas Company performs work on a gas main, officials announced.
One lane in each direction is scheduled to remain open along Newhall Avenue between Pine St. and Valle Del Oro during construction.

A vehicle crashed into gas line Friday afternoon which resulted in a gas leak near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Rainbow Glen.
