Rick Allen Walker, who is convicted of four counts of DUI causing injury, was sentenced to seven years in state prison on Thursday. Walker injured 11 people, four of them seriously, when he drove the wrong way on Highway 14 during rush hour.

Caltrans will implement two closures this week as part of the ongoing effort to create a carpool lane in the San Fernando Valley and to improve the pavement between Vista Del Lago and Kern County Line in Gorman.
Two Caltrans construction projects will affect traffic on Interstate-5 this week. Caltrans will close southbound I-5 in the San Fernando Valley Monday night through Wednesday morning and reopen the Gorman Road on-ramp to northbound I-5 on Wednesday.
Providence St. Joseph is providing robotic equipment to four San Fernando hospitals on Monday, as part of their new Telestroke Center. The center will allow St. Joseph neurologists to better treat stroke patients by remotely diagnosing and directing treatment.
