A commissioner for the open slot on the Santa Clarita Arts Commission will be selected on Tuesday to finish the unexpired term of office that ends on July 31, 2014, according to Santa Clarita city officials. The council will vote to appoint a commissioner, then the newly elected Arts Commissioner will be expected to assume the position at the following Arts Commission meeting on Thursday.
The Santa Clarita Arts Commission is currently seeking a new member, following the resignation of Paul Strickland, whose term expires on July 31, 2014. Interested parties can apply to the City Clerk's office by Friday, May 24.
The Hart district board meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday at the district office on Centre Pointe Parkway, will discuss issues such as employee layoffs, selection of a new board member, and properties owned by the SCV Facilities Foundation.
