Santa Clarita City Council members approved a Metro billboard deal that would take down more than 100 billboard faces in exchange for six large electronic ones. Santa Clarita City Councilman TimBen Boydston was the lone vote against the deal. Mayor Laurene Weste recused herself from the vote because she owned property within 500 feet of more than one billboard location.
Los Angeles County officials have determined that the railroad crossing Briggs Road residents use to access their properties is in fact a legal crossing. The residents say it's one step in a long process to get legal road access to their homes.
Between Thursday and Tuesday, over Presidents' Day weekend, there will be several full and partial closures on both sides of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass, as part of Metro's improvement project. Motorists should plan ahead for delays and detours.
