    Santa Clarita Deputies Arrest 5 On Drug-Related Charges

    Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies reported five drug-related arrests in a four-hour span Thursday night into Friday morning, as part of a continued effort to keep Santa Clarita’s residents safe, Sheriff’s Station officials said Friday. “Capt. (Roosevelt) Johnson has attended briefings on all shifts, many times staying past midnight to interact with deputies working patrol overnight,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “He’s been looking to continue the low crime rate we’ve had in this community, which is based on a close partnership we’ve had with the residents that we serve.” Two of the arrests were the direct result of Santa Clarita Valley residents who noticed suspicious behavior and reported it to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Dubin added.

    UPDATE: Newhall Heroin Overdose Victim Identified

    Deputies responded Tuesday morning to an apparent heroin overdose in Newhall, involving a 25-year-old male. Responding Fire Department personnel were unable to resuscitate him.
