    COC Cougars Fall To Pasadena City College Lancers 20-12 - 9/27/2014

    In a game heard live on KHTS, the College of the Canyons Cougars lost to the Pasadena City College Lancers by a final score of 20-12.     Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update September 03, 2014

    The Hart and Valencia football teams are ranked in the CIF Southern Section West Valley Division top 10. But both teams dropped in the polls after the first week of the season.

    Hart dropped from No. 3 to No. 5 after losing to Chino Hills in the opening week of high school football.

    Valencia dropped a spot to No. 6 and didn’t even play in the opening week.

    Valencia opens against Palmdale on Friday night.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update September 02, 2014

    Santa Clarita Christian quarterback Jonathan Saavedra opened the high school football season in record-setting fashion.

    He accounted for nine touchdowns, seven passing and two rushing, in his team’s 68-20 win over Lutheran High of Chula Vista.

    Saavedra passed for 529 yards and seven touchdowns, both school records. Four of his touchdown passes went to Cameron Lewis.

    COC Football Player Still In Critical Condition After Fatal Crash Friday

    One of the three College of the Canyons football players who was in a multiple vehicle collision in Sylmar Friday is still in critical condition, officials said Monday.

    The Hart High football team won the Under the Lights passing tournament at Central Park.

    Hart beat Chaminade, 17-10, in the championship game of the 7-on-7 passing tournament hosted by Saugus High.

    Hart and Chaminade met in the CIF State Division II Bowl game last season.

    Four teams from the Foothill League played in the Under the Lights tournament. West Ranch was 1-4 and lost to Notre Dame in the first round of playoffs.

    Saugus was 3-2 with wins over Trabuco Hills, Dorsey and Golden Valley.

    The College of the Canyons men’s basketball team beat Cuesta College, 74-66, in a Western State Conference North Division game in San Luis Obispo.

    The Cougars improved to 3-1 in the North Division standings. They are 9-8 overall.
