The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved the boundaries of the Santa Clarita Valley Enterprise Zone at their Tuesday meeting. The Enterprise Zone program ends on Dec. 31, 2014, but tax credits and benefits are still available until then.
Businesses can still take advantage of hiring credits and tax breaks through the Santa Clarita Valley Enterprise Zone before the program ends on Dec. 31. The Enterprise Zone is holding a free seminar at College of the Canyons.
The state Senate passed Governor Jerry Brown's AB 93 that effectively eliminates the Enterprise Zone program. The program has been providing hiring incentives and tax credits for businesses since 1984 across the state and since 2007 in Santa Clarita.
