    Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Christian Boys Basketball Win In Playoffs

    The Santa Clarita Christian boys basketball team started its playoff run a day early. But the Santa Clarita Christian boys had no problem with Tarbut V’Torah, 64-38, in the second round of the Division 5A playoffs.

    On the girls side, the Albert Einstein Academy lost to Silver Valley, 59-25, in the first round of the Division 5AA playoffs.

    The Santa Clarita Christian girls lost to Arrowhead Christian, 55-29, in the first round of the Division 5A playoffs.

    College Of The Canyons To Host Social Media Job Search Workshop

    Job seekers and students will have the opportunity to learn about job searching through social media and how to create a personal brand online at College of the Canyons' March 8 workshop, taught by Joshua Waldman.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Trinity Classical Academy Boys Basketball Win In Playoffs

    The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team rolled over New Covenant Academy, 57-16, in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.

    Trinity led 38-8 at halftime and held New Covenant to two points in the fourth quarter.

    Trinity plays Lee Vining in the second round of the playoffs on Friday night.

    The Trinity Classical Academy girls basketball team plays Arrowhead Christian tonight in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5A playoffs.

    Kathleen Madigan Plays To Sold Out Audience COC

    As part of her Madigan Again concert tour, comedian Kathleen Madigan gave an uproariously funny show to Santa Clarita audiences at the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 14th. A 25 year veteran of stand up comedy, Madigan's storytelling style left audiences breathless with laughter as she discussed a range of topics from "noodling" (Catching trout by hand) and Florida retirement communites ("Where old people are ordered to go spend the month of February), to the benefits of Lunesta and the Sochi Olympics.

    College of the Canyons has eliminated thousands of plastic bottles since the installation of bottle refilling stations in Mentry Hall.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart Boys Basketball Undefeated In Foothill League

    The Hart boys basketball team capped an undefeated Foothill League season with a 53-52 win over Canyon.

    Hart won the Foothill League championship outright with a perfect 10-0 record.

    College Of The Canyons Plants Vineyard For Wine Studies Program

    College of the Canyons and Pulchella Winery in Newhall are partnering to expand the Wine Studies program with a vineyard at the Valencia campus. Transplanted from Remo Belli Vineyards in Paso Robles, the vineyard will give students hands-on training.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart Boys Basketball Wins Foothill League Championship

    The Hart boys basketball team won the Foothill League championship after toppling Valencia, 82-68.

    The Hart boys ran their undefeated Foothill League record to 9-0. Valencia dropped to 6-3.

    The West Ranch boys basketball team beat Golden Valley, 87-49, and moved into a second-place tie with Valencia for second place in the Foothill League standings.

    The Canyon boys basketball team beat Saugus, 66-51. The Cowboys improved to 5-4 and is in fourth place in the Foothill League standings.

    COC Students Needed To Fill Vacant Seats For Spring Semester

    Although classes at College of the Canyons begin Monday, there are hundreds of empty seats students can fill anytime through Feb. 21.
