    CalArts, Chiquita Canyon Landfill Host Found Art Competition In Valencia

    A contest for CalArts students sponsored by Chiquita Canyon Landfill awarded $8,000 in scholarship money Thursday night for students of the world-renowned Valencia art college.

    CalArts Hires Leighton Pierce As New Dean For School Of Film/Video

    CalArts has hired filmmaker Leighton Pierce as the new dean of their School of Film/Video. Pierce will take over for Steve Anker on July 1. Anker has been dean since 2004 and will continue as a full-time faculty member.

    Santa Clarita Valley Community Leader John Fuller Dies At 80

    Community leader John S. Fuller helped create Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and led the reconstruction of California Institution of the Arts after the 1994 Northridge earthquake. He died at home Friday.
