Santa Clarita’s Arts Commission is looking to increase interaction with the Santa Clarita Valley’s arts community with discussion of a “community engagement” plan Thursday. The plan has been discussed for several years, according to city officials, who identified the need to improve awareness about the goals and projects associated with the city’s Arts Commission as early as 2011.
The months-long parking lot renovation at the Valencia branch of the Santa Clarita Public Library, will culminate with a ribbon cutting on Thursday. The completed project will feature 27 new parking spaces, lighting, landscaping and public art.
The City of Santa Clarita’s Arts Commission, in conjunction with the Arts Council of Kern, present the “Art in Touch” art exhibit featuring artwork appealing to the tactile senses or to the sense of touch at Valencia Town Center Drive.The exhibit provides a high-quality art experience to visually impaired community members and individuals of all ages.
