    California Department of Transportation officials have planned to implement closures during the week of July 15-18 as part of a project that is constructing truck lanes on the I-5 freeway between Pico Canyon Road/ Lyons Avenue and the Antelope Valley Freeway, SR-14.

Ramp closures will be staggered.

    Police Pursuit On I-5 Of Attempted Murder Suspect Ends In Arrest

    The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested a suspect after a pursuit on the I-5 Freeway.

    According to Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, the incident began when police ran the license plate of a green Mazda and identified the vehicle as being involved in an attempted murder, and that the driver should be considered armed and dangerous.

    The overnight storm dumped fresh snow in the Antelope Valley, as well as Acton and Agua Dulce, causing problems along the 14 freeway commuter corridor.

    The California Highway Patrol has shut down the northbound offramp at Pearblossom Highway due to several vehicles, including an Antelope Valley Transit bus, being stuck in snow and ice. Traffic on the 14 is reported to be backed up from Agua Dulce Canyon Road through the Palmdale area .
