Santa Clartia City Council Soliciting Feedback About Old Town Newhall Roundabout

The City of Santa Clarita launched a survey today requesting feedback from the community about what they’d like to see at the center of the Old Town Newhall roundabout at the intersection of Newhall Avenue, Fifth Street and Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

The single item survey monkey questionnaire was developed at the request of the City Council and asks residents for their thoughts about what should be at the center of the Old Town Newhall Roundabout.  The survey includes seven response options to the question “what type of art symbolizing Old Town Newhall’s heritage should be placed at the center of the Roundabout”?  Survey options include:   a depiction of 1920’s Western film star William S. Hart or William S. Hart with his horse Fritz, an art piece in another location in Newhall (not in roundabout), landscaping, water feature, live tree, do nothing, and an opportunity to share another concept with the City Council for consideration not listed.

The survey is available through the end of October online at Santa-Clarita.com.  The survey will also be emailed to those who have requested information about the City’s arts and events programs through the email notification system eNotify.  Staff will present results from the survey and feedback from the Arts Commission to the City Council at a regular City Council meeting in November.

For more information about the Old Town Newhall Roundabout art project, please contact Arts and Events Administrator Phil Lantis at (661) 250-3775.
