Lancaster JetHawks To Hold Charitable Baseball Game

The JetHawks, along with the WiSH Foundation and city of Santa Clarita’s S.C.O.R.E. officials have teamed up to present the baseball game against the Inland Empire 66ers.

“I have lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for the past seven years and am very familiar with how family oriented and sports oriented the city is,” said Will Murphy, assistant general manager for the Lancaster JetHawks. “I really wanted a great night out for the families in Santa Clarita.”

Half of the proceeds will go to the the WiSH Foundation and city of Santa Clarita’s S.C.O.R.E. organizations.

“Both are hosting a fundraiser and we wanted to promote the night and have a Santa Clarita Valley Night,” Murphy said. “Buying tickets through S.C.O.R.E, WiSH or us will support local charities in the Santa Clarita area.”

Lancaster JetHawks To Hold Charitable Baseball Game Tickets are $8 and can be purchase online. Ticket prices will raise to $10 on Saturday at the JetHawks box office.

More than 200 people have already purchased tickets to the game, Murphy said.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the game is expected to begin at 6 p.m.

The first 1,000 fans to walk into the stadium will receive a reversible JetHawks jersey. One side of the jersey will look similar to a Los Angeles Lakers Jersey while the other side will look like a Los Angeles Clippers jersey, Murphy said.

The Lancaster JetHawks are a minor league Class A Affiliate with the Houston Astros. The Inland Empire 66ers are a minor league Class A Affiliate with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

“We play 140 games every year. The JetHawks have the best record in the division,” Murphy said. “We always expect to win but that doesn’t always happen. We’re hoping to win on Saturday, that’s for sure.”

About S.C.O.R.E.
The S.C.O.R.E. Program provides more than 100 annual scholarships to Santa Clarita Youth. S.C.O.R.E., which stands for “Supporting Children’s Opportunities in Recreational Events.” The program is funded completely by donations of Santa Clarita’s residents and businesses. The program provides youth, whom otherwise could not afford to, a chance to participate and play in a safe environment, and enjoy the many great parks, recreational classes, program, and sports leagues offered by the City’s Recreation division via scholarships.
