The West Ranch softball team needed a come-from-behind victory over Canyon to win its second Foothill League game of the season.
West Ranch beat Canyon, 9-4, scoring six runs in the sixth inning to take the lead.
Canyon was up 1-0 in the first inning and increased its lead to 4-2 in the third inning.
West Ranch improved to 2-0 in the Foothill League. Canyon dropped to 1-1.

The Saugus softball team blew out Hart, 12-1. Ty Cueva and Esther Ferreira each drove in four runs for Saugus.
The Lady Centurions are 2-0 in the Foothill League. Hart dropped to 0-2.
The Valencia softball team beat Golden Valley, 13-3, in five innings. Wendy Cardinali hit a home run, a double and drove in four runs for Valencia.
The Lady Vikings are 1-1 in the Foothill League. Golden Valley is 0-2.

The Valencia boys volleyball team beat West Ranch in five games on a record-breaking night for Kyle Ensing.
He broke the school record with 37 kills in the match and led Valencia to a perfect 5-0 record in the Foothill League.
Ensing broke the record of 34 kills set by his older brother Eric in 2012.
In auto racing, the NASCAR Pro Late Models highlight the races at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield on Saturday night.
The mini stocks, street stocks, mini dwarfs and the 911 Series are also scheduled to race. The green flag drops at 7.

Los Angeles Sports Report
In the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings lost to the San Jose Sharks, 6-3, in Game 1 of their NHL Stanley Cup first-round playoff series.
The Sharks were up 5-0 after two periods. But the Kings scored three goals in the third period to cut the lead to two.
The Sharks scored an empty-net goal in the final minute to put the game away.
Game 2 of the series is Sunday in San Jose.
In the major leagues, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants, 2-1, and avoided the sweep. Hyun-Jin Ryu tossed seven shutout innings and struck out three.
Next up for the Dodgers are the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at the Ravine. Zack Greinke starts for the Dodgers against Wade Miley for the Diamondbacks.
