Santa Clarita Sports: Valencia Boys Basketball Jumped To No. 15

The Valencia boys basketball team jumped into the CIF Southern Section Division 1AA poll. The Hart boys basketball team dropped off the Open Division watch list.

The Valencia boys are ranked No. 15 in the Division 1AA poll, tied with Orange Lutheran. Mater Dei is the top-ranked team in Division 1AA.

The Hart boys are No. 4 in the Division 2A poll. They are undefeated in the Foothill League at 4-0.

The Canyon boys are ranked fourth in the Division 2AA poll. Hart and Canyon meet tonight in a Foothill League game at Canyon High School.

The Valencia boys are on the road and take on West Ranch tonight.

Saugus plays Golden Valley. Both teams are looking for their first Foothill League win.

The Santa Clarita Christian boy are ranked No. 4 in the Division 5A poll.

The Trinity Classical Academy boys are ranked No. 1 in Division 6.

On the girls side, Valencia is ranked No. 16 in the Division 1AA poll. The Valencia girls are undefeated in the Foothill League at 4-0.

The Canyon girls are ranked No. 6 in the Division 1A poll. Canyon is tied with Hart for second place in the Foothill League standings at 3-1.

The Hart girls are No. 9 in the Division 2A poll.

Hart and Canyon meet in a Foothill League game tonight. The Valencia girls play West Ranch.

In college baseball, The Master’s College beat Simpson College, 7-2, and ran its record to 8-0.

The Mustangs are ranked No. 12 in the NAIA. Steve Karkenny went 1-for-3 with a double and drove in two runs.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 114-86, to end their Grammy road trip. The Clippers went 5-2 on their road trip.

They are back at Staples Center for a game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

In the NHL, the Kings are back on the ice tonight for a game against the Coyotes in Phoenix.
