Santa Clarita Sports: Valencia Baseball Is Lone Team Left In Playoffs
The Kings are one win away from advancing to the NHL Stanley Cup finals.
The Kings beat the visiting Chicago Blackhawks, 5-2, in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals.
Jake Muzzin, Marian Gaborik and Dustin Brown scored in the first period to give the Kings a 3-0 lead.
The Kings are up 3-1. They can wrap up the series in Game 5 in Chicago on Wednesday.

In high school track and field, Nathan Bultman from West Ranch High won a CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship in the shot put at Cerritos College.
He won with a throw of 60 feet, 11 ¼ inches.
Bultman was one of seven athletes the Foothill League to qualify for the Southern Section Masters Meet on Friday.

In high school baseball, Valencia is the lone team standing from the Foothill League in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
The Vikings beat Thousand Oaks, 11-2, in the first round. They will play JSerra Catholic in the second round today.
The Hart baseball team, champion of the Foothill League, lost to Orange Lutheran, 7-2, in the first round.
The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team advanced to the second round of the Southern Section Division 7 playoffs. The Cardinals beat Cuyama Valley, 16-2, in the first round.
They will play Riverside Christian in the second round today.
In auto racing, Canyon High graduate Greg Pursley won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield.
It was his first win of the season. Pursley won the inaugural West Series race at Kern County Raceway Park last year.

In the Indianapolis 500, Jack Hawksworth, driving for Bryan Herta Autosport, finished in 20th place. Hawksworth was making his first Indy 500 start for the team owned by Valencia’s Bryan Herta.
Ryan Hunter-Reay won the race, the first Indy 500 victory of his career.
In the major leagues, Hyun-Jin Ryu took a perfect game into the eighth inning and the Dodgers beat the Reds, 4-3.
A day after Josh Beckett threw a no-hitter for the Dodgers against the Phillies, Ryu retired the first 21 Reds batters he faced before giving up a double to Todd Frazier.
The Dodgers scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 4-0 lead. Carl Crawford knocked in two runs with a double.
The Dodgers and Reds continue their series tonight. Zack Greinke starts for the Dodgers against Alfredo Simon for the Reds.
