Santa Clarita Sports: Trinity Boys Basketball Advance In CIF State Playoffs

The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team advanced to the second round of the CIF State Division 5 Southern California Regional after eliminating Capistrano Valley Christian, 65-51.

Michael Mateo scored 14 points and led three Trinity players in double figures.

The Santa Clarita Christian boys basketball team is in the second round of the CIF State Division 5 Southern California Regional after knocking out Kern Valley, 65-38.

Phillip Webb scored 14 points and the Santa Clarita Christian boys combined for 19 steals against Kern Valley.

Santa Clarita Christian plays View Park on Saturday in the second round of the Southern California Regional.

In high school baseball, West Ranch lost to Harvard-Westlake, 6-3, in the championship game of the Easton Tournament at Birmingham High.

Harvard-Westlake led 4-0 in the second inning and increased its lead to 6-0 in the fifth.

West Ranch scored all three of its runs in the fifth inning to cut the lead in half.

It was the first loss of the season for West Ranch. The Wildcats are 4-1 to start the season.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the visiting Golden State Warriors, 111-98, and won their ninth game in a row.

The Clippers will try to make it 10 in a row against the Utah Jazz on Friday night.

In the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings play the Toronto Maple Leafs at Staples Center tonight. The Kings have won eight games in a row. They beat the Calgary Flames, 3-2, on Monday night.
