Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update September 26, 2014

The West Ranch football team takes on Oxnard, one of the top teams in the CIF Southern Section Western Division, tonight at Valencia High School.

Oxnard is ranked No. 7 in the Western Division and is coming off a 35-28, come-from-behind win over Buena. Oxnard is 3-1.

West Ranch is trying to shake off a 35-0 shutout against Thousand Oaks last week. The Wildcats are 2-2.

The Valencia football team is on the road against Santa Monica tonight.

Santa Claraita High School Football

The Vikings are ranked No. 4 in the Southern Section West Valley Division.

Hart plays Santiago Corona at College of the Canyons. The Indians are ranked No. 8 in the Southern Section West Valley Division.

The Canyon football team plays St. Francis on the road. Canyon has won two games in a row and coming off a 35-21 win over Burbank.

The Golden Valley football team is back in action after have a bye last week. The Grizzlies play at Hawthorne. They are looking to snap a two-game losing streak.

In high school volleyball, the Saugus girls won a thriller in five games against Louisville, the second-ranked team in the Southern Section Division 2A.

Saugus won the fifth game of the match, 15-12 and improved to 9-6.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers play the Colorado Rockies tonight in the final series of the season.

The Dodger still have a shot at the best record in the National League, but they need to sweep the Rockies to have a chance.
