The West Ranch boys won the first Foothill League cross country meet of the season, edging Saugus with its sixth runner at Central Park.
The two teams tied with 46 points. But West Ranch’s sixth runner finished in 20th place. Saugus’s sixth runner was 24th.
Ryan Tate from Saugus won the race in 15 minutes, 50.28 seconds. Caleb McClain from Canyon was second. A pair of runners from West Ranch followed. Tucker Welker was third and Ryan Painter was fourth.

The Saugus girls won their meet. Freshman Mariah Castillo from Saugus won the race in 18 minutes, 37.59 seconds. Samantha Ortega from Saugus was second in 18 minutes, 41.12 seconds.
In college soccer, The Master’s College men lost to Concordia, 4-0, and snapped their three-game winning streak.

Concordia is ranked No. 17 in the NAIA. The Master’s College dropped to 3-5.
In college golf, The Master’s College men finished in third place at the California State Intercollegiate Classic at the Diamond Valley Golf Course in Hemet.
Joey Downey shot the low score for the Mustangs. He was 3-under in the three-round tournament.
