Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update September 05, 2014

The Hart football team looks to rebound after losing its season opener to Chino Hills last week.

Hart, ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section West Valley Division poll, plays Chaminade tonight. Hart lost to Chaminade last year in the CIF Southern California Regional Bowl game.

Hart is still the Southern Section Northern Division champion.  But the Indians need a win to avoid going 0-2 to start the season.

Valencia is home for its season opener against Palmdale.

Valencia is the reigning Foothill League champion and ranked No. 6 in the Southern Section West Valley Division poll.

Canyon travels to play Thousand Oaks tonight. Canyon lost its season opener to Westlake last week.

Santa Clarita Football News

Saugus is home for its game against Newbury Park. Saugus lost its season opener to Simi Valley.

West Ranch is on the road against Sierra Canyon. The Wildcats beat San Marcos last week.

Golden Valley plays Royal from Simi Valley at Canyon High. The Grizzlies are looking to go 2-0.

The Santa Clarita Christian football team plays at Malibu.

The Trinity Classical Academy football team, the reigning CIF Southern Section Division 2 8-man champion, opens its season against Kings Christian.

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood.
