The Santa Clarita Blue Heat women’s soccer team lost to the LA Blues, 5-0, in a game at The Master’s College.
The Blue Heat have lost two games in a row. They dropped to 3-5 in the USL W-League.
Their next game is Saturday against the Pride in Colorado.

In auto racing, the NASCAR Late Models will race twin 35s at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield on Saturday night.
The Spec Mods, Mini Stocks and Mini Dwarfs are also scheduled to race. The green flag drops at 7.

In the NBA, the Lakers selected Julius Randle with the seventh pick in the NBA draft. Randle averaged 15.0 points and 10.4 rebounds in his freshman season at the University of Kentucky.
Andrew Wiggins from Kansas was the No. 1 pick in the draft. He was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Clippers took CJ Wilcox from the University of Washington with the 28th pick.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers shut out the St. Louis Cardinals, 1-0, in an old-fashioned pitchers’ duel.
The Dodgers broke up the scoreless tie with a run in the eighth inning.
Josh Beckett pitched seven shutout innings for the Dodgers. Brian Wilson earned the win with a scoreless inning in the eighth. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth for his 24th save.
The Dodgers and Cardinals continue their series tonight. Hyun-Jin Ryu starts for the Dodgers against Carlos Martinez for the Cardinals.
