Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update June 10, 2014

In high school track and field, Nathan Bultman from West Ranch was sixth in the shot put at the CIF State meet in Clovis.

His throw of 58 feet, 10 ½ inches came on his second of six attempts. He received an All-State medal for his efforts at the meet.

Brian Zabilski from Saugus was 12th in the 3,200 in 9 minutes, 4.64 seconds.

Both athletes are juniors and are expected to return to track and field for their senior seasons.The Kings shut out the Rangers, 3-0. Quick made 32 saves in the shutout. The Kings took a 3-0 lead in the series.

The Los Angeles Kings and goalie Jonathan Quick were tres magnifique in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the New York Rangers.

The Kings shut out the Rangers, 3-0. Quick made 32 saves in the shutout. The Kings took a 3-0 lead in the series.

Jeff Carter, Jake Muzzin and Mike Richards scored the goals for the Kings.

They can wrap up the series in Game 4 in New York on Wednesday night.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds, 6-2, and won their second game in a row on the road.

Scott Van Slyke hit two home runs and drove in a career-high four runs in the game.

Dan Haren won his sixth game of the season.

The Dodgers continue their series against the Reds today. Josh Beckett starts for the Dodgers aganst Mike Leake for the Reds.
