Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update July 10, 2014

Hart quarterback Brady White earned some national attention.

He was one of 18 quarterbacks ranked nationally in the annual Elite 11. White was 11th.

Jarrett Stidham from Stephenville High in Texas was ranked No. 1.

White will be playing on Team Fly Rush as part of the 7-on-7 pool play tournament in the Elite 11.

Hart wide receiver Trent Irwin is one of 162 players from across the country participating in the pool play as well.

World Cup 2014

In the World Cup, the final is set.

Argentina beat the Netherlands, 4-2 on penalty kicks. Argentina will play Germany in the championship game on Sunday.

Germany clobbered host Brazil, 7-1, in the other semifinal match.

Brazil will play the Netherlands in the third-place game on Saturday.

Los Angeles Dodgers

In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Tigers, 4-1. The Dodgers lost two games against the Tigers and have dropped three of their past four games.

The Dodgers will try to right the ship tonight against the Padres at Dodger Stadium.

Clayton Kershaw starts for the Dodgers against Odrisamer Despaigne for the Padres.
