Santa Clarita Sports: Santa Clarita Update July 07, 2014

The Santa Clarita Blue Heat women’s soccer team lost their final two games of the USL W-League regular season.

They lost to the LA Blues, 4-1, in their regular season finale.

The Blue Heat lost to the Colorado Rush, 6-1, in their home finale.

The Blue Heat finished with a 4-8-0 record and in sixth place Western Conference of the USL W-League.

In auto racing, Jeremy Doss won the NASCAR Pro Late Models race at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield.

Gene Fife won the Super Stocks race, Gary Dutton won the Spec Mods race, Ryan Vargas won the Bandoleros race and Mason Woessner won the 911 Racing Series race.

Los Angeles Dodgers

In baseball, four Dodgers were selected to the National League All Star team.

Yasiel Puig will start in the outfield for the National League All Stars. Dee Gordon was selected as an infield reserve.

Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke were selected to the National League All Star pitching staff.

Puig and Gordon made the All Star team for the first time in their careers.

Kershaw is 10-2 with a 1.85 ERA. He threw the first no-hitter of his career and has a 36 inning scoreless streak.

Greinke is 11-4 with a 2.66 ERA. He has 119 strikeouts in 111 2/3 innings.

On the field, the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies, 8-2. The Dodgers have won three of their past four games.

They are off to Detroit to start a series against the Tigers on Tuesday.
