West Ranch’s Lauren Lindvall was selected to the Cal-Hi Sports All State first team in softball.
She was one of 30 softball players from California picked for the first team.
Lindvall was the only player from the Foothill League selected to the team and one of 13 infielders on the first team.

In soccer, the Santa Clarita Blue Heat plays the Colorado Rush in their home finale tonight at The Master’s College.

The Blue Heat are coming off a 1-0 shutout against the Colorado Storm and snapped a three-game losing streak.
The Blue Heat are 4-6 and in fifth place in the USL W-League Western Conference.
The game between the Blue Heat and the Rush kicks off at 5:30.

In the major leagues, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Cleveland Indians, 5-4. The Dodgers have lost two games in a row.
Hart High graduate Trevor Bauer started for the Indians. He gave up three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Bryan Shaw earned the win in relief.
Andre Ethier had two hits and drove in two runs for the Dodgers. The Dodgers had the tying run on third base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. But Matt Kemp flew out to centerfield to end the game.
The Dodgers are off to Colorado to start a weekend series against the Rockies tonight.
Zack Greinke starts for the Dodgers against Franklin Morales for the Rockies.
