Santa Clarita Sports: Hart And Golden Valley Advance In Tennis Playoffs

In high school tennis, the Hart and Golden Valley boys won their wild-card matches in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

Hart beat Buena Park, 17-1. Elliot Miller swept his sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0.

Hart plays Windward in the next round today.

Golden Valley beat Pacifica from Oxnard, 11-7. Brandon Yu swept his sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0.

Golden Valley takes on Pasadena Poly in the next round.

In high school baseball, Hart beat Saugus, 2-1, and stayed in first place in the Foothill League standings.

Paul Richan knocked in two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game for Hart.

Hart starter Jack Ralston gave up one run on four hits and struck out four.

Hart improved to 11-3.

The Valencia baseball team beat Golden Valley, 4-1. Jacob Silva went 2-for-3 with a triple and drove in a run for the Vikings.

Valencia is in second place in the Foothill League at 10-4.

The West Ranch baseball team beat Canyon, 3-2. West Ranch and Saugus are tied for third place in the Foothill League at 9-5.

Los Angeles Sports Report

The Kings are on thin ice again, down 3-2 against the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Kings lost their third game in a row, 4-3, to the Ducks in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday night.

Game 6 is at Staples Center tonight. Listen to the game on AM 1220 KHTS. The puck drops at 6:30.

In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 105-104, in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The Thunder leads the series, 3-2. Game 6 is at Staples Center on Thursday.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers beat the Marlins, 7-1. The Dodgers scored five runs in the sixth inning to break open the game.

The Dodgers can go for the sweep against the Marlins tonight. Paul Maholm starts for the Dodgers against Anthony DeSclafani for the Marlins.

First pitch is at 7:10.
