Santa Clarita Sports: Five Boys Basketball Teams In CIF Playoffs

Five boys basketball teams from the Santa Clarita Valley are in action tonight in the CIF Southern Section playoffs.

The Hart boys are home for their second round Division 2A playoff game against Kaiser.

The Canyon boys welcome La Habra to Canyon High for their second round Division 2AA playoff game.

The Valencia boys are on the road against Trabuco Hills.

The Trinity Classical Academy boys are home against Baptist Christian in the quarterfinals of the Division 6 playoffs.

The Santa Clarita Christian boys take on Shalhevet in the quarterfinals of the Division 5A playoffs.

All games are set to tipoff at 7.

In high school soccer, the Hart boys are in the second round of the Division 4 playoffs against Lawndale today at Hart High. Hart beat Colony, 2-1, in the first round.

The Valencia boys play Artesia on the road in the second round. Valencia beat Salesian, 2-1, in the first round.

In college basketball, the College of the Canyons women are the No. 13 seed in the Western State Conference South Regional playoffs. They play Pasadena City College in the first round on Friday.

The CIF Southern Section preseason baseball and softball polls are out. Hart is the No. 7 team in the Division 1 poll. The Santa Clarita Christian baseball team is No. 8 in the Division 7 poll.

The West Ranch softball team is No. 5 in the Division 1 preseason poll.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 123-110, and won their second road game in a row.

The Clippers are back home for a game against the Houston Rockets at Staples Center on Wednesday.
