    UPDATE: Big Brush Fire Off I-14 Out

    Brush fire near freeway put out, no connection to oil refinery

    At 9:15,  a brush fire was reported on the 14 Freeway at San Fernando Road.


    Although the exact cause is unknown, the blaze did start on the road side.


    Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene, and several helicopters dropped water on the blaze.

    City of Hope Patient Joseph Farah has had leukemia once, and now its back


    In late October 2006, Joseph was diagnosed with leukemia, and recentally, he had a relapse. 


    Trying to put the cancer in remission, Joseph recently was admitted for one dose of chemo.  His wife, Stephanie Farah is used to the uncertainty of recovery.  "You can never tell when leukemia is in remission, you never know."  It was supposed to target his bone marrow, but instead he contracted an infection.

    At around 7:00 yesterday, the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department received a call from a man who said that his wife had just called him and told him that she accidentally drove off a cliff somewhere off of Sand Canyon Road.
