    Hart Schools Raise Thousands For Hurricane Relief Effort

    Tens of thousands of dollars & box loads of supplies are being donated by students & parents of the Hart district for survivors of Hurricane Katrina...

    The outpouring of cash & supplies has been so swift that Pat Willett, spokeswoman for the William S. Hart Union High School District, has had trouble keeping up with the tallies.

    Lane Closures for I-5 Carpool Lane Construction – September 19-21

    The California Department of Transportation will close the following lanes, ramps and connectors of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:
     
    MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 THROUGH WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21:
    ·     5 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One lane of northbound I-5 from State Route 210 to
    State Route 14
    ·     9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - One lane of southbound I-5 and the southbound

    Lawsuit Formally Filed Against the Hart School District

    A lawsuit has been formally filed against the William S. Hart School District, Superintendent, and Board Members, Tuesday morning.  One item was omitted from the lawsuit due to redundancy.


     

    Woman Killed in Gorman Crash

    A 19-year-old Ventura man's been arrested in connection with a crash near Gorman that killed a 56-year-old Glendale woman Sunday, officials said.David Ray Mckelvey was arrested Sunday on charges of manslaughter & hit-&-run causing injury & death, according to a California Highway Patrol report.  He's accused of causing an accident that resulted in the death of Rose Manukian...

    L.A. Kings Hockey Players Appearing Locally

    This Wednesday, September 21st at 5pm, two of the upcoming stars of the Los Angeles Kings, Tim Gleason (#42) and Dustin Brown #23, will be signing autographs at the new KHTS AM-1220 Community Resource Station.   Photographs will be available for signing. 
     
    The Community Resource Station, a new addition to KHTS AM-1220, is located next to the Atrium in the Westfield Valencia Town Center.
     
    KHTS AM-1220 is part of the Los Angles Kings Radio Network, and will carry their games this season.
     

     

    Lane Closures for I-5/126 Interchange September 19-23

    The California Department of Transportation will close the following lanes of I-5 and State Route 126 as part of the FINAL STAGES of a $24-million project to improve the I-5/126 Interchange from Monday, September 19 to Friday, September 23:
     
    INTERSTATE 5
    Daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
     
    -- One lane of northbound and southbound I-5 from Rye Canyon Road to Hasley
    Canyon Road
     
    Monday, September 19; Tuesday, September 20; and Wednesday, September 21

    Lockheed Federal Credit Union "Player of the Week"

    Congratulations to Jared Dennis of Santa Clarita Christian for being selected as a “Player of the Week”.
     
    One week after rushing for five touchdowns and 249 yards in a losing effort, the SCCS quarterback made adjustments against Hillcrest Christian, showing he could do the same type of damage with his arm.  Dennis threw 222 yards and six touchdowns Saturday, also adding another 59 yards on the ground.

    Law Appreciation Day Celebration

    L. Rob Werner, President of the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association, announced today a special Law Appreciation Day program put on by the Bar Association and co-sponsored by Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce, the City of Santa Clarita, the Los Angeles County District Attorney and Sheriff offices, and the California Highway Patrol.
