    'Holiday in the Park' To Debut At Magic Mountain This November

    Six Flags' "Holiday in the Park" has been popular at amusement parks across the nation, and will debut at Magic Mountain on Nov. 28. "Holiday in the Park" will blow previous holiday celebrations "out of the water," according to a park spokeswoman.

    Santa Clarita Sports: Hart Baseball Drops In CIF Southern Section Poll

    The Hart baseball team dropped to No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 poll. The Indians lost their first game of the season to Saugus last week.

    Hart is 10-1-1 overall. The Indians play Blessed Trinity from Georgia in the Bishop Gorman Easter Classic on Thursday.

    COC Battle Of The Bands Accepting Submissions Until April 30

    Aspiring musicians in the Santa Clarita Valley can apply for a spot in College of the Canyons' inaugural Battle of the Bands, sponsored by Keyboard Galleria. Seven music groups will be chosen to compete in May at the COC Canyon Country Campus.

    Santa Clarita Valley Deputies Makes Arrest On Robbery, Assault Charges

    Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies received a call from a Santa Clarita business office that led to a felony arrest Saturday, officials said. Sean Nagle, 45, of Valencia, was booked on assault with a deadly weapon and an attempted robbery charge, after employees said he tried to steal the keys to their business by force on the 25300 block of Magic Mountain Parkway, near Tourney Road, in Santa Clarita. Sheriff’s Station officials commended the informants in the incident for immediately contacting the Sheriff’s Station after becoming concerned.

    COC English Department Calling For Poets And Writers

    College of the Canyons faculty members are looking for talented poets and writers who would like to share their work with others.

    In celebration of fine writing, officials from the COC English Department are planning a curated reading in May and are calling for writers interested in participating to submit their work by April 24, school officials announced Monday.

    Valencia High Graduate Finished 29th In Kraft Nabisco Golf Championship

    Valencia High graduate Alison Lee finished in a tie for 29th place in the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills Country Club.

    She shot a 1-under 71 on the final day of the first LPGA major of the season. Lee was 2-over par for the four-round major.

    Lexi Thompson won the Kraft Nabisco Championship with a 14-under par.

    Lee, who is still an amateur and a freshman at UCLA, was making her fifth appearance in an LPGA major. She has played in three US Women’s Opens and two Kraft Nabisco Championships.
