The latest topic “Increase Your Self Esteem and Feel Good” will be covered in the LifeForward workshop sponsored by the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley.

The event will be on Saturday October 19 from 10 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. at the Savia Community Center in Newhall. The workshop is free and designed to assist local women with their lifestyle, family and career issues.
The October workshop will feature Shana Williams, a life coach, writer, actor and domestic violence survivor. She has been a principal of Empowered Lifestyles for more than 10 years, counseling individuals through life changes.
Free childcare is available for women who register in advance at (661) 288-0117. Spanish translation also can be provided. Women who arrive by the 10 a.m. start time are entered in a drawing for a free gift certificate Future LifeForward workshops for 2013-14 include “Avoid Holiday Stress,” Nov. 16; “Learn to Network, Write a Resume and Interview,” Jan. 18; “Understanding and Filing Taxes,” Feb. 23; “Your Health & Wellbeing,” March 15; “Women’s Health Issues,” April 26; “Divorce and Family Law Issues,” May 17; and “Sources of Child Support,” June 21. The program will be dark in December.
Zonta offers the free LifeForward workshops on a monthly basis, in cooperation with Single Mothers Outreach, Domestic Violence Center, Los Angeles County Department of Child & Family Services and Habitat for Humanity/SFV/SCV Returning Women Veterans. Workshops are organized by topics in which women express interest.
