Vayu Yoga will offer private and speciality classes for both beginners and experienced yoga practitioners. The classes focus on floor-based yoga, aerial yoga, YogaWall, Pilates, dance conditioning, and other related stretching and therapeutic practices.
Founder and owner Wendy Hassenpflug has been teaching Pilates and dance in the Santa Clarita Valley since 2001. Three years ago she started private yoga training out of her home, and only in the last couple years decided to expand her business.
“I’m very excited to bring Vayu Yoga into the Santa Clarita Valley,” Hassenpflug said, “It will be a very unique place for people to really work on therapeutic mind/body practices in a very personalized fashion and in a very small format, where they’re going to get a lot of individualized attention.”
Hassenpflug, who has a Master of Science in kinesiology, did her thesis on aerial yoga, a form of yoga that incorporates fabric hammocks and adds the elements of suspension and decompression.
“The fabric fosters support to take yoga practitioners to a place that most yoga students can’t go to,” Hassenpflug said.
