McBean Parkway Kidnapping Suspect Sought By Sheriff’s Deputies

A woman was unharmed and a suspect is still sought in a reported kidnapping attempt Tuesday night.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a call for service regarding a woman who had been reportedly kidnapped from her car in a parking lot in the area of The Old Road and Mcbean Parkway, in the unincorporated area of the Santa Clarita Valley.

“This incident is part of as ongoing investigation and details are still being uncovered,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “And deputies were able to resolve this incident and no one was seriously injured.”

No one ended up being hurt in the incident, and the suspect is still at large.

This incident started Tuesday night.

Deputies made contact with the victim’s family who told them they had received phone calls from their loved one, who told them she had been kidnapped.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies began an immediate investigation.

Santa Clarita Valley deputies were able to determine the victim’s last known location, which was in the Sunland area.

Deputies from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station were contacted, and they ultimately located the victim in her car in the Sunland area.

Deputies discovered the suspect had fled the area when the vehicle apparently ran out of gas. The suspect was an ex-boyfriend of the victim.

She was approached by the suspect and ordered to sit in the passenger seat of her car.

Fearing for her safety, she followed his directions and once in the car, he drove her away.

While they were driving she attempted to call for help using her cell phone, but the suspect allegedly hit her and took the phone away.

The suspect fled the scene after the vehicle ran out of gas.

The victim had only minor injuries and was not hospitalized.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives are continuing their ongoing investigation in this case.

The suspect in this incident is still outstanding, and his identity is not being released at this time pending further investigation by detectives.
