"Once they give a containment figure, it means they're making really good progress," said Inspector Keith Mora of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We got dispatched at 1:19 p.m., winds are 10-15 miles per hour,” Mora said.

"It's moving south, but it looks like they've pretty much got it under control," Mora said, noting the winds and temperature.

There is currently 0 percent containment, he said, noting that 12 engines, eight camp crews of 20 men, four helicopters and three fixed wing aircrafts were on the scene, according to additional support units, he said.

"They're making quite a bit of progress," Mora said. "We're getting unofficial reports that it's around 50 acres."

There are 195 personnel on the scene.

"They are evacuating two houses as of now, on Ridge Route Road and Highway 138 in Gorman," Sgt. Andrew Dahring of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station

There might be more homes evacuated if the winds shift, officials said.
