Two Drown In Swimming Pool In Piru

Two men drowned in a residential pool around 1:35 p.m. in the 3700 block of Howe Road in Piru Saturday.

Ramon Alvarez, 79, was pronounced dead at the scene while his son Nelson, 37, was taken to Los Robles hospital. Nelson died hours later, according to Fillmore Police.

A preliminary investigation indicated the two men drowned while attempting to repair parts in the pool. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office will further investigate the incident and determine the cause of death.
