Thunder On The Lot Event Raises Over 3 Million For Kids Charities

The 19th Annual Thunder on the Lot charity event was held Saturday in Antelope Valley.

“Our mission remains firm, to help the kids in our community who truly need it the most,” Ron and Yvette Emard, Thunder on the Lot officials, said.

 

Entertainment and attractions included live music, car shows, food concessionaires, full bars, more than 100 vendors, prize drawings, motorcycles shows, drifting races, motorcycle stunt riders, burn out contest, a carnival, chess tournament, Bingo, AV Boys & Girls Club Science Projects, a Poker Run and Charities Exhibit.

 

Some of the music headliners included Great White, Judge Jackson, True 2 Crue and Platinum Rockstars featuring David Victor of Boston.

 

“Collectively we have raised over 3 million dollars at Thunder on the Lot impacting thousands of lives for the Kids Charities of the Antelope Valley” the Emards said.

 

All of the charities that are included in the Kids Charities of the Antelope Valley organization benefited from this event.  

 

Some of these charities include the Boys & Girls Club of Antelope Valley,AV Guild of Children’s Hospital, Children’s Center of Antelope Valley, Healthy Homes and The Painted Turtle Camp as well as 20 others.

 

“Even with all of the changes and challenges of our economy, Thunder continues to grow and serve the kids,” the Emards said. “As one of the largest car and bike events in California, we can all be proud of the progress made and the lives that have been changed.”

 

Opportunity drawing prizes included a $25,000 Aquaphina pool, a 2013 Harley-Davidson Switchback, art pieces by Chris DeRubeis, a custom Honda by Robertson Honda, two custom built Mini-Scoots, a one hour jet helicopter ride, pilot simulator ride, AV Fair Gold Circle concert and Motorsports VIP and a Deck Out Your Cave garage package.

 

“We thank each and every one of you who’ve sacrificed time, effort, and financial support to make Thunder on the Lot such an enormous success,” the Emards said.
