“We are a fresh, Asian grill and we have good ingredients,” Derosa said at the opening event. “We make all our own sauces right here. It’s healthy and our chicken is free range with no hormones, no MSG and it’s really tasty.”
Derosa said that the restaurant has a relatively small menu, but the different combinations of meats and bases give visitors 142 different meal choices.
KHTS was broadcasting live from a booth set up at the opening event and brought its classic 1948 Mack Fire Truck for attendees to take pictures with.
KHTS was also offering prizes at the event and provided giveaways on Facebook prior to the grand opening. Participants were given the chance to win chicken teriyaki bowls and free tickets to Disneyland.
Derosa said that Teriyaki Madness is a franchise started by several men from Seattle who moved to Las Vegas to pursue their plans to own a restaurant.
“They perfected their own teriyaki sauce,” Derosa said. “Teriyaki is already big in Seattle so they went to Vegas and saw there was a need for it there. They started a store and they were getting overwhelmed and ended up opening another. Then they started franchising. There are now 10 in Vegas and this location is the 14th one to open.”
As part of the grand opening, 20 percent of proceeds from the day went to Single Mother’s Outreach, Derosa said.
Teriyaki Madness is located in Valencia at the corner of Newhall Ranch Road and Rye Canyon, in the Gateway Village parking center.
