SunPower by Green Convergence opened their brand new Solar Design Center in Valencia on Saturday.

”We are very excited about this Grand Opening. This is our first showroom and we hope to build more of these in retail locations,” said DJ Schramm, president of Sunpower.
More than 100 people from all over the Santa Clarita Valley attended the event.
“I’m fascinated with the technique with installation and the quality of the panels,” said Toby Anne Shelly, a resident of Santa Clarita and attendee of the SunPower Grand Opening event.
The new Solar Design Center has displays that shows guests information about solar panels and what they look like when installed.
“The thing we feel most blessed about are the people we get to work with; They’re all so intelligent and professional,” said Schramm. “They put on this whole event together. It’s an amazing event and they do events like this to bring the awareness of solar power to the public.“
Santa Clarita residents came to the new center between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to see the new SunPower gallery and participate in the fun.
“This is very different information that I’ve had before and I’m interested in learning more about it but it is very high quality,” said Shelly.
Many different Santa Clarita businesses came to the event to help with the entertainment.
Facepainting by Dragonflylola Artistry, live music from the band G3, a bounce house, shaved ice from Kona Ice, and different booths with food helped contribute to the festivities.
A solar powered scooter could be won in a raffle and guest were allowed to try out the solar powered scooters in an obstacle course.
