Straightening ReinsGuests will be able to enjoy refreshments and guided tours of the ranch, in addition to raffle prizes.

Straightening Reins is located on Quail Trail near San Francisquito Canyon Road and Copper Hill Drive. They exist to encourage students to open up about their feelings and struggles through interactions with horses and other barnyard animals, such as goats and miniature donkeys.

Straightening ReinsThey provide a number of classes and support groups, teaching children how to be creative through photography and painting, in addition to providing counseling for grief, drug/alcohol abuse and peer pressure.

Straightening Reins is free and open to youth as a safe place in the community on a daily basis. They charge for some classes in the evenings, but scholarships are available for families who otherwise would not be able to participate.

The organization was founded by Debbie Rocha of Acton after her 15-year-old daughter, Samantha Dyer-Rocha committed suicide in 2011. Straightening Reins also sponsors a college scholarship for aspiring students at Vasquez High School, where Dyer-Rocha attended.
